Young Justice: Invasion ep.3 reaction

So many FEELINGS!

Okay! So. First of all, overall impression: I was very pleased with this episode. The animation was flawless [more so than usual, awesome special effects], the art was spectacular [it really got a lot better since season 1], and the voice acting was amazing [as it always has been].

Second of all, I’ve just gotta mention how AMAZING the fight scene with the Batfam was [Nightwing, Batman, Robin, and Batgirl]. I fangirled the entire time because it was amazing. They really are a family forever and I love when they show that <33 those I was SLIGHTLY disappointed at the ending scene where the Justice League was leaving. I honestly wanted to see a little more love between my otp [Dick/Bruce]…I suppose if he would have been Robin, that would have been the case, but now he’s all grown up and shizz. Tim Drake hasn’t talked much and it makes me sad. Hope he gets a bigger role later on in this season.

AQUALAD. OH MY GOD. I KNEW Kaldur wasn’t trustworthy….I hate characters who are all like become evil because something bad happened to them. It’s like..hasn’t he ever heard of Batman? Yeah. Remember all those bonding/very gay moments where Bruce and Kaldur had all that special training and alone time? What happened to that? They’re a really shipped couple and you’d think he would have been able to knock some sense into him before he went all evil. Anyway. I had been wondering where he was and I guess we know now why Garth wasn’t set as Aqualad from the start. I’ve heard a lot of people complain about the “obscurity” of the kids chosen to be part of the team, but as the story works out, there’s really no way around it and in my opinion, the choices were great. The only problem I’m having is the lack of Damian. I want him in it SO BAD!! He’d be the perfect little team-pouter angsting all over the place and it would just be adorable.

I was just really pleased with this episode. I’m glad they finally cleared up what happened during the 16 hours, though it was pretty obvious what had happened early on. One question: Where’s Flash? I’m dying to know if it’s Wally or Barry, and if it’s still Barry (who’s 40 now..that seems SO OLD! T_T), where the heck is Kid Flash? Since he’s the only other one missing from the original team now [Artemis? urgh. What HAPPENED…], I’m sure we’ll hear from him in the next episode or two.

At first I wanted this whole 5-years-in-the-future thing to end in like, another episode, but I’m okay with it now that they’ve got pretty much everyone from the old team involved again. The only thing that saddens me is the lack of FILLERRRR. I just want something to SHIP again and see people laugh. ;_;

I’m loving the Superman/Superboy moments, they’re incredibly sweet and I’m loving Superman now, and since Superboy’s officially called “Kon-El”…CAN THE TIMKON START?

I honestly thing Young Justice is the like cartoon to actually confront the whole gay thing. Especiallywhenit’ssocanoninthecomics. At least some BROMANCE, WEISMAN!!!!
